Free Vintage Santa Claus Kids Christmas Cards

As promised in my previous post, here are some extra-jolly vintage Santa Christmas cards from the mid-twentieth century. These started out life as kids Christmas cards, but now they also make great clip art or holiday gift tags. And the patriotic Uncle Sam Santa could be a great card or gift tag to send to a loved one in the military this Christmas.

Free Vintage Dog Art Christmas Cards

I think dogs used to be less popular than they are now, because it’s much easier to find vintage images of cats. But I did manage to find these nice examples of vintage dog art that span quite a few decades. My favorite is probably the one with Santa having to bribe a bulldog with a dog biscuit. It isn’t the highest quality of the bunch as far as artistic value goes. But I like the silliness of Santa having to beg a dog just to deliver his toys.

Update: Over time many people have told me how much they enjoy these dog Christmas cards, and animal holiday cards in general. Free Vintage Santa Clip Art

These vintage Santas look range from a little serious and even worried to as jolly as we’ve come top expect Santa to be. Because the origin of these images span decades, you can see how Santa’s image has evolved over the years. Mid-twentieth-century Santa clip art is consistently cheerful. In fact, those images of Santa — which are from the 1940′s through the 1960′s — are downright silly. See our collection of mid-century vintage Santas.

Free Vintage Santa Claus Christmas Cards

Santa Claus of old had a tendency to be a bit more serious than he is today. And apparently he sometimes wore blue pants, or a blue or green coat (depending on the region, I presume), because that’s they way he’s depicted in some of the vintage Christmas cards below.

Free Holiday Gift Certificates

Short on cash this holiday season? Or maybe you just want to give a gift that’s a little more personal? Try these free gift certificates for Christmas and Hanukkah, which are free and in effect give the gift of you.

It’s so simple! Here’s how it works:

1. Scroll down to choose one of the five designs. They’re available as PDFs if you want to use them as-is; or as Microsoft Word documents, if you’d like to alter them.

Print the one you like (whether one of the original designs or your modified version) on nice paper. To create a vintage art feel, you can get parchment-look paper. There also are plenty of other nice papers you can choose from that will dress up your finished gift certificate.

2. Think of something you can give to a loved one that would mean a lot, then write that on the gift certificate. Here are some examples:

Offer to baby-sit for a certain number of hours
Offer to keep the kids amused at a friend’s New Year’s Eve party, so the adults can have fun undisturbed
Cook a complete dinner, from soup to nuts
Drive the kids to school for a week
Offer to house-sit for a friend who travels a lot
Walk the dogs for a week

Be creative! You probably know what your friends and family need and want. Just imagine how happy the recipients will be when they that see you understand that and are willing to give of yourself to help them.

3. Use a large decorative envelope to protect and present your certificate, or put the certificate into a flat box and wrap it, for an even more elegant effect.
